Following catastrophic floods in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, actor NTR Jr has stepped forward with a generous donation of Rs 1 crore to the Chief Ministers' Relief Fund. In a heartfelt message shared on X, NTR Jr expressed his concern for those affected and announced Rs 50 lakh for each devastated state.

"I am deeply moved by the recent floods in two Telugu states due to heavy rains. I pray to God that Telugu people recover from this calamity soon. On my part, I am announcing a donation of Rs 50 lakh each to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governments," he stated in a translated post. Concurrently, the Telangana government released a comprehensive assessment of the damage caused by the monsoon deluge.

According to preliminary estimates, the floods have inflicted a total loss of Rs 5,438 crore, outlined in a report from the Telangana CMO on Monday. The breakdown includes Rs 2,362 crore in damages to roads and buildings, Rs 175 crore to electrical installations, Rs 415 crore in crop losses, and Rs 629 crore for irrigation repairs. Further assessments revealed the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development lost Rs 170 crore, the Medical and Health Department Rs 12 crore, the Animal Husbandry Department Rs 25 crore, the Municipal Administration Rs 1,150 crore, and public property damages totaling Rs 500 crore. Relief efforts have seen 110 camps organized and over 4,000 individuals relocated to safety.
