Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address nearly one lakh BJP workers at an event in Ahmedabad on September 16 during his first visit to Gujarat after assuming office for a third term in June, stated a senior party functionary on Tuesday.
Announcing the PM's itinerary, Gujarat BJP president and Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Paatil urged workers to overcome the despair stemming from the party's lower-than-expected performance in the recent Lok Sabha polls.
An atmosphere of despair prevailed post the Lok Sabha poll results in June, where BJP secured 240 seats, falling short of the majority mark. Paatil hopes Modi's visit will invigorate the party's spirit.
