AppsForBharat, the parent company of the popular devotional app Sri Mandir, announced on Tuesday that it has secured $17.8 million in a funding round led by venture capital firm Fundamentum, co-founded by Infosys' Nandan Nilekani.
The funding round saw contributions from Susquehanna Asia VC and existing investors like Elevation Capital, Peak XV, and Mirae Asset VC. Founded in November 2020 by IIT Bombay alumnus Prashant Sachan, AppsForBharat aims to meet the spiritual needs of its users.
The newly acquired funds will be used to scale both domestic and international operations, add new temples to the app, and introduce new services. The company envisions transforming Sri Mandir into an end-to-end digital platform for the devotional sector, eyeing markets like the US, UK, and Canada for international growth.
