Odisha's Robust Security Plan for Durga Puja Festivities

Elaborate security measures have been implemented by Odisha Police in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for Durga Puja. Police commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh detailed the deployment of police platoons, traffic regulations, and safety measures at festival sites to ensure festive peace and safety.

Odisha Police has outlined comprehensive security arrangements in the cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to guarantee a smooth Durga Puja celebration this year. This was revealed in a press briefing by police commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh.

Singh disclosed that Bhubaneswar will host the festival across 187 pandals, while Cuttack will have 166. To handle the expected large crowds and maintain public order, 38 platoons, each with 30 police personnel, will be deployed in Bhubaneswar and 64 in Cuttack. Additionally, 200 police officers and members of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) will be strategically positioned.

The commissioner emphasized the implementation of special traffic regulations and precautionary measures to prevent minor crimes like chain snatching. Structural and fire safety at pandals is also a priority, Singh added.
