Bus Mishap in Bihar: Buddhist Monks Injured

A Gaya-bound bus carrying Buddhist monks from Nepal was involved in an accident in Bihar's Jehanabad district. The bus driver lost control and the vehicle fell into a pond, injuring eight monks from Vietnam, Myanmar, and the US. An investigation is underway.

In a tragic turn of events, at least eight Buddhist monks sustained injuries when their Gaya-bound bus veered off the road and plunged into a roadside pond in Bihar's Jehanabad district, according to local police.

The accident occurred in the Karauna area when the driver reportedly lost control, resulting in the bus crashing into the water. The injured monks, largely from Vietnam, Myanmar, the US, and traveling from Nepal, were swiftly attended to.

Three of the monks were transported to Patna Medical College and Hospital for advanced care, while the others received first aid at a local health facility before being discharged. An investigation into the incident is ongoing as confirmed by Jehanabad Superintendent of Police, Arvind Pratap Singh.
