In a display of solidarity, ISKCON devotees gathered in Kolkata on Tuesday to pray for the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh. The religious minority community has seen a surge in attacks since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government.
Hundreds of ISKCON followers, chanting 'Hare Krishna', assembled at the Albert Road center, led by spokesperson Radharamn Das, to advocate for the security of Hindus in the neighboring country.
Raising placards, they demanded action against extremists and the release of Hindu spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das and other detained monks. Das is expected to appear in a Bangladesh court on January 2.
