Inferno Engulfs Biscuit Factory in Surat

A massive fire at a biscuit manufacturing factory in Surat's GIDC area, triggered by a chemical blast, caused extensive damage. A severe blaze erupted at a biscuit manufacturing plant in Surat's GIDC area, ignited by a chemical explosion, leading to substantial destruction within the facility, according to officials on Wednesday.

The inferno began near midnight, escalating quickly due to an explosion involving stored chemicals, as reported by Kamrej fire station sub-officer Vijay Tandel.

Despite over 12 hours of relentless firefighting efforts involving multiple teams and vehicles, the blaze remains uncontrolled. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, stated Surat rural Superintendent of Police Hitesh Joysar.
