On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined French President Emmanuel Macron at the historic Mazargues Cemetery in Marseille to honor Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Great War.
The solemn ceremony saw Modi laying a wreath of tricolour-themed flowers, paying tribute to the numerous Indian soldiers commemorated at the site, maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC).
Modi's visit to France included co-chairing the AI Action Summit with President Macron, alongside meetings with business leaders. The Mazargues Indian Memorial, a significant historical site, continues to commemorate Indian and Egyptian casualties from both World Wars.
