The government, through Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, has expressed its commitment to assist the media industry during its transition from traditional to digital platforms. In a statement to the Storyboard18-DNPA Conclave, the minister highlighted key issues like copyright rights and fair compensation.

Minister Vaishnaw emphasized examining the role of traditional media amidst new-age changes, noting that current challenges include employment issues, copyright concerns, and ensuring fair compensation for content creators. He assured that the government is prepared to support the industry throughout this shift.

Union Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju raised alarms about misinformation and clickbait, adding that digital platforms must uphold responsible content curation. Jaju also pressed for transparent revenue-sharing to sustain journalism financially as content is used widely without compensating original creators.
