Imphal Anchors in Mauritius for National Day Celebration

The Indian naval ship Imphal docked at Port Louis, the capital city of Mauritius, on Monday. The visit is part of the island nation's national day celebrations, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi present to honor the event as the chief guest.

The highlight of the celebrations, scheduled to take place on March 12, involves participation from a contingent of Indian armed forces, alongside the naval warship and the Akash Ganga skydiving team of the Indian Air Force. A marching contingent, naval band, and helicopter flypast will form part of the National Day Parade at Champs de Mars.

During its docking from March 10 to 14, the ship will engage in activities aimed at enhancing bilateral ties and defense cooperation, including training sessions and cultural exchanges. This deployment emphasizes India's strategic focus on regional maritime security and its dedication to nurturing relations with Mauritius in the Indian Ocean Region.
