MLA Gopal Mandal's Viral Bhojpuri Song Controversy

JD(U) MLA Gopal Mandal is under fire for allegedly singing suggestive Bhojpuri songs at a Holi event in Bihar. Authorities filed an FIR after a video, showing him pasting a currency note on a dancer's cheek, went viral. Bihar police are cracking down on explicit Bhojpuri music.

JD(U) MLA Narendra Kumar Niraj, better known as Gopal Mandal, finds himself embroiled in controversy for reportedly performing suggestive Bhojpuri songs during a Holi function in Bihar's Bhagalpur district.

A video that has gone viral captures Mandal singing lyrics with double entendres while participating in the event organized ahead of the festival. In the same footage, he is seen attaching a currency note to a dancer's cheek on March 10.

Naugachia Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) two days later, following a report by Sub-Inspector Surendra Singh. Efforts to contact the local police superintendent and the MLA for comment remain unanswered.

Recently, the Bihar police initiated a campaign against vulgar Bhojpuri music, labeling it a societal issue that threatens women's safety and influences children negatively. A police circular mandates strict action against those playing bawdy songs publicly.
