Himachal's Commitment: Uplifting the Gaddi Community

The Himachal Pradesh government aims to resolve the Gaddi community's issues by enhancing the minimum support price for wool, ensuring better prices for sheep rearers, and increasing financial aid for losses during the monsoon disaster. The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, announced steps to address the challenges faced by the Gaddi community. These efforts include potentially increasing the minimum support price for wool after consulting stakeholders.

The state aims to support sheep and goat rearers with better pricing, thereby boosting the rural economy. The scheme follows enhanced compensation for livestock lost during the 2023 monsoon disaster, raising financial aid from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000.

Newly appointed Himachal Pradesh Wool Federation Chairman Manoj Kumar pledged to fulfill his duties, reflecting pride for the Gaddi population in Chamba and Kangra districts. The announcement was made in the presence of Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh.
