The government of Sikkim has taken a substantial step towards promoting cultural pride by instituting 'Traditional Wear Work Day.' Starting this week, all personnel in government offices, public sector undertakings, and banks must don traditional attire every Thursday.

A circular from the Home Department identified the purpose of this initiative as an attempt to enhance pride in Sikkim's distinct cultural identity and reawaken traditional values among employees.

With immediate effect, the directive encourages all officers and staff to showcase their state's diverse cultural heritage through their clothing choices each Thursday, reinforcing a sense of unity and pride across workplaces.
