The 53rd birth anniversary of Assam's revered cultural icon Zubeen Garg, who passed away recently, was solemnly marked across the state on Tuesday. Various groups, including political parties, hosted a range of activities such as blood donation camps to honor the legendary singer's memory.
Fans congregated at his Kahilipara residence around midnight, celebrating with song and tribute alongside his wife Garima Saikia Garg and sister Palmee Borthakur. The day's events included the unveiling of a bust at his home by his family members.
In Kokrajhar, the foundation stone for Zubeen Garg Park was laid, and saplings were planted in his memory. Through these tributes, Assam aims to honor an artist who embodied the state's cultural spirit and whose legacy continues to inspire future generations.
