Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a towering 77-feet bronze statue of Lord Ram in Goa on Friday, marking the 550th anniversary of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Jeevottam Mutt. The landmark event took place in the historic monastic institution of Partagali, South Goa.
Designed by renowned sculptor Ram Sutar, who is behind the iconic Statue of Unity in Gujarat, this newly unveiled statue is now the world's tallest representation of Lord Ram, according to Goa's Public Works Department minister Digambar Kamat.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries including Goa Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, underscoring the cultural and spiritual significance of the event to the Saraswat community and India's rich monastic heritage.
