Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the completion of Babasaheb Ambedkar's memorial at Indu Mill in Mumbai by December 6 next year. This was announced at the 69th Mahaparinirvan Day event at Chaityabhoomi, commemorating the Constitution's chief architect.
The government appointed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority as the Special Planning Authority in 2013 for this ambitious project. The memorial will span 4.84 hectares, featuring gardens and a significant bronze statue that embodies Ambedkar's legacy.
The complex is designed to include a 1000-seat auditorium, library, meditation center, and other facilities. A cabinet subcommittee is coordinating the development to honor the site near Chaityabhoomi, attracting followers each year to observe Ambedkar's death anniversary.
