President Droupadi Murmu expressed her condolences following the death of celebrated sculptor Ram Sutar. Sutar was renowned for his unique contributions to India's artistic and cultural landscape, having left a lasting impact through his monumental creations.

In a message shared on social media platform X, Murmu noted the profound influence Sutar's art has on India's legacy. His most notable work, the Statue of Unity, symbolizes India's enduring commitment to unity and heritage. Sutar was also known for creating significant works such as a statue of V D Savarkar at the Cellular Jail.

Sutar passed away at the age of 100 in his home in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday night. His legacy is set to continue inspiring generations of artists, with an enduring impact on India's cultural heritage.
