In a move to streamline the hospitality industry, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has instructed the Department of Tourism to issue provisional registrations to homestays awaiting fire No Objection Certificates (NOCs). This decision is aimed at ensuring that homestay operations can proceed without unnecessary bureaucratic delays.
The Chief Minister has also unveiled a dedicated portal, http://homestay.hp.gov.in, to facilitate online registrations for homestay operators. This user-friendly platform is designed to help operators manage administrative tasks from their homes, thereby promoting hassle-free business operations.
Sukhu emphasized the importance of the Home Stay Scheme as a key component in boosting tourism, promoting self-employment, and drawing visitors to lesser-known regions of the state. By integrating urban areas and expanding the scheme's scope, the government seeks to enhance the rural tourism landscape and provide tourists with authentic cultural experiences.
