An armed robber was sentenced to three years in prison for attempting to break into a luxury London home where Hollywood actress Anya Taylor-Joy was staying, officials announced. The incident occurred on February 12, 2023, and was reported by the Press Association news agency.
Prosecutors revealed that Kirk Holdrick, along with another masked accomplice, used a crowbar in an effort to enter the actress's bedroom, suggesting a personal target rather than a standard burglary. Malcolm McRae, Taylor-Joy's husband, thwarted their efforts by locking the door and shouting that he had a gun, causing the intruders to flee.
Holdrick, already serving sentences for other armed robberies, initially denied involvement but later pleaded guilty. The case was concluded at London's Woolwich Crown Court, underscoring the intention to personally target Taylor-Joy and her musician spouse.
