Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, during the April 2026 State-Wide Attention on Grievances by Application of Technology (SWAGAT) programme, underscored the need for rapid resolution of public grievances, issuing directives to district authorities to ensure complaints are addressed within set timeframes, as per an official release.
A significant number of grievances were addressed during the online SWAGAT event, with over 110 applicants from various parts of the state presenting their issues. Notably, 1,335 applications were processed through district-level SWAGAT programmes.
Particular attention was given to a case in Panchmahal district, where a lingering application on the iORA portal highlighted flaws in the system. Patel instructed the District Collector to fix these issues. Furthermore, in Bharuch's Jhagadia taluka, he demanded immediate compensation for a farmer awaiting payment under the Karjan reservoir project, with accountability measures for the delay.
The Chief Minister further addressed a complaint of financial fraud involving false documents, directing strict police action against perpetrators. A complaint from Mehsana was also noted, where farmers requested rectifications in land records after re-survey discrepancies.
Patel reminded officials that their duty extends beyond file transfers to ensuring the full resolution of grievances. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including his Principal Secretary Sanjeev Kumar and others.
