In a significant revelation for Marvel enthusiasts, Kenneth Branagh has expressed a desire to direct another film in the 'Thor' franchise, marking a potential return more than ten years after his role in the 2011 original. According to Variety, Branagh disclosed in a recent discussion that he has been contemplating ideas to re-engage with the superhero narrative.

Branagh conveyed a yearning to conclude his journey with the character, expressing a wish to craft a film that mirrors the brilliance of James Mangold's 'Logan.' He aspires to give Chris Hemsworth and the ensemble cast their individual story that transitions 'Thor' into a grand finale. Branagh did not return for the sequels, as Alan Taylor and Taika Waititi directed subsequent entries in the series.

Citing the scale and intensity of Marvel's productions, Branagh explained his initial decision to step back. 'Marvel shoots are intense, and the postproduction is even more so. It's wildly exciting but super intense, and I needed a break. Kevin Feige and the cast were understanding,' Branagh stated, as reported by Variety.

Despite not being part of the sequels, Branagh remains intrigued by the series' evolution, watching with a blend of pride and astonishment. He sees potential beauty in bringing 'Thor' characters to their narrative end. However, he admits Marvel's existing plans for the franchise's future might hinder his proposed vision.

Acknowledging the studio's directional plans, Branagh remarked, 'The Marvel Universe is deep into the future, and whatever plans they have are likely set,' adding, 'there's beauty in concluding those arcs with these characters and actors.'
