An Indian Navy submarine named Sindhukesari has arrived at the Colombo port for Operational Turnarounds, according to a Monday statement from the Sri Lankan Navy. The Indian submarine received a ceremonial welcome from the Sri Lankan Navy upon its arrival on Sunday.
The crew of Sindhukesari is set to engage in various events organized by the Sri Lanka Navy. These activities include visits to multiple tourist attractions across the island nation. The High Commission of India in Sri Lanka highlighted the welcome on social media as a display of full naval tradition.
Recently, the Indian and Sri Lankan navies conducted a bilateral naval exercise off Colombo's coast, showcasing joint deep-sea diving capabilities. The exercises have strengthened cooperation in underwater search, rescue, and salvage operations.
