Canon has launched its new professional camera, the EOS R6V, in India, underlining the nation's burgeoning influence in global storytelling trends. According to Tiger Ishii, Canon’s Managing Executive Officer, India’s rapidly growing economy and youthful demographic offer significant market potential for the technology giant.
The EOS R6V, priced at Rs 2,35,995 with the RF 20-50 F4L IS USM lens at Rs 1,42,995, is tailored for filmmaking. Ishii emphasized that smartphones complement rather than compete with cameras, suggesting that they help expand creative possibilities, later bringing users back to premium cameras for enhanced imaging experiences.
Canon India’s President, Toshiaki Nomura, noted the country’s vibrant digital content scene, driven by a high percentage of Gen Z identifying as creators. This cultural shift heightens demand for cinematic quality and flexibility in storytelling tools, positioning the EOS R6V as more than just a camera but an enabler of creative ambition.
