Protesters in Albania have targeted luxury construction projects along the Adriatic coast, dismantling fences around a development site associated with Jared Kushner. This marks escalating unrest over constructions impacting environmentally sensitive areas.
Locals in Rrjoll staged a separate demonstration against a project on allegedly confiscated land, waving national flags and clashing with police, who did not intervene as villagers removed fencing. They expressed determination to continue protesting until land compensation demands are met.
Zeke Nikolle Shullani, a protesting landowner, criticized the Albanian government's handling of the projects, describing the situation as 'madness.' Residents demanded consultation with investors, questioning their approach to local wealth acquisition without accountability.
