Steven Universe Season 6 to show Steven quite matured, ‘The Movie’ gets new villain

Steven Universe Season 6 may be one of the most highly anticipated animated television series but Cartoon Network is yet to confirm it. Even there is no denial that hints the possibility of its making. Many avid viewers thought that Season 5’s final episode titled ‘Change Your Mind’ was the last one of the entire series but thanks to Rebecca Sugar who had shown a ray of hope.

Many thought that Steven Universe: The Movie was a replacement of Steven Universe Season 6. But that was actually not true. Rebecca Sugar hinted that the film would not be a replacement to the series, thus her indication was that Season 5 should not be considered as the series’ end.

Fans must be amused learning that Steven Universe Season 6 will be different. “There's going to be more, but it's going to be different and it's going to be something new so there is a lot more to do,” said Ian Jones-Quartey, one of the executive producers. On this note, Rebecca and Ian said to an Apple Podcast in February this year that title of Season 5’s finale ‘Change Your Mind’ was actually a time of realization for Steven. According to them, as he discovers more about himself, he will attain maturity and accordingly fans will get to see lots of alterations in him in Season 6.

The viewers may also see Steven as a grown-up person in the imminent Season 6 of Steven Universe. He has realized that he is a Pink Diamond. Accordingly, his childish behavior will less be seen with rising in his maturity and he can also be seen as a decision-maker who can stand up for himself, as clarified by EconoTimes.

On the other hand, Cartoon Network released a poster of Steven Universe: The Movie on July 9. It featured Steven (Zach Callison), Amethyst (Michaela Dietz), Pearl (Deedee Magno) and Garnet (Estelle). The poster gives an indication of an antagonist of whom they are unknown while standing on a cliff. Some believe that the villain could be Aquamarine. Will she be also seen in Season 6?
