An AQI between 0-50 is marked good, 51-100 is satisfactory, 101- 200 is moderate, 201- 300 is poor, 301-400 is very poor and 401-500 is considered severe. The most likely reasons behind poor air quality, as stated by SAFAR, are moderate local wind speed and low stubble burning.

"Surface winds are calm and forecasted to improve over the next two days wind direction is forecasted to be north-westerly. A marginal improvement in ventilation index is forecasted for the next two days, AQI is likely to marginally improve and the lower end of the 'Very Poor' category for the next two days. AQI is forecasted to marginally deteriorate towards the middle-end of the 'Very Poor' category on January 31," SAFAR stated.
