Three people died during Ganesh idol immersion in the Gandhi Nagar area of Indore on Friday, police said. As many as two people were also injured and were rushed to a hospital, the police added.
"Five people went for Ganesh idol immersion in the Gandhi Nagar area of Indore. After immersion, they started bathing in the water filled in a mine pit. Three of them died due to drowning while two were saved by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF)", said Anil Yadav, Gandhi Nagar police station in-charge. The three deceased identified as Aman, Anish and Jayu were residents of Indore's Malharganj area, Yadav said.
