BAE Systems chosen to build Australia's nuclear-powered submarines, UK says

Britain's BAE Systems will build new nuclear-powered submarines for Australia in partnership with Australian company ASC under the AUKUS security pact, Britain said in a statement on Thursday.

The deal with Australia, which the UK said could boost its defence industry by billions of pounds over the years, will also benefit Rolls-Royce, as the British engineering firm will deliver the nuclear propulsion plants for the Australian boats.
