In a disturbing case of alleged abduction, the family of a minor girl, supported by local Hindu Jagran Manch activists, has accused the police of negligence in handling the matter. The incident, which unfolded in the Madhupur area of Sipahijala district twelve days ago, revolves around the disappearance of a 15-year-old girl, allegedly abducted by a local youth after enticing her with various promises.

Despite relentless efforts by the family to trace the missing girl, including widespread searches across the vicinity and filing a formal complaint at the Madhupur Police station, the authorities have failed to locate her. Frustrated by the lack of progress, the family, accompanied by activists from the Hindu Jagran Manch, staged a protest outside the police station on Monday afternoon, demanding answers regarding the delay in the investigation and the failure to rescue the abducted girl.

According to sources, the investigating officer was notably absent during the protest, leaving the family and activists to voice their concerns to subordinate officers who were unable to provide satisfactory explanations. The family alleges that, despite regular communication with the police, there has been no proactive effort to recover the missing girl.

Adding to the pressure on the authorities, local MLA Antara Sarkar has also intervened in the matter, instructing the police to take the necessary action to expedite the investigation and ensure the safe return of the abducted girl. "14-15 days ago, a minor girl, the daughter of Kartik Debbarma, was abducted by a Muslim boy from Mia Para. The victim's family had already lodged a complaint against the accused in Madhupur PS. But there is no progress in the case. So today we, on behalf of Hindu Jagaran Manch, have arrived here and talked with the police in-charge for sure action," said a member of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
