In an exclusive interview with ANI, Paswan shared the challenges he faced in persuading his father, Ram Vilas Paswan, to consider other political alliances.

Chirag Paswan explained how his efforts to arrange a meeting with Rahul Gandhi were unsuccessful, leaving his father disappointed and prompting a reconsideration of the party's political affiliations. Despite his initial resistance to joining the BJP-led NDA, Ram Vilas Paswan eventually agreed after realizing the lack of clarity within the UPA.

The LJP chief spoke of his attraction towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speeches, which greatly influenced his decision. Paswan also highlighted the discomfort his father faced within the UPA due to interactions with leaders from the RJD. These dynamics ultimately led the party to secure victory in six out of 40 seats during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, marking a significant political shift.
