Saroj Kumar Pradhan Appointed Government Chief Whip of Odisha Assembly
Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi has appointed Saroj Kumar Pradhan as Government Chief Whip and Gobinda Chandra as Deputy Chief Whip. Majhi is set to present the state budget on July 25, marking a shift in governance with BJP's victory in the recent assembly elections.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has appointed Saroj Kumar Pradhan as the Government Chief Whip of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly. Gobinda Chandra has been named the Government Deputy Chief Whip.
"Hon'ble CM Sri @MohanMOdisha is pleased to appoint Sri Saroj Kumar Pradhan, Hon'ble MLA Boudh as the Government Chief Whip of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly. Sri Gobinda Chandra, MLA Remuna is appointed as the Government Deputy Chief Whip," reads a post from the office of the Odisha Chief Minister on social media platform X. CM Majhi is scheduled to present the state budget on July 25.
On Thursday, Chief Minister Majhi announced that the BJP will introduce its inaugural budget in the Odisha Assembly on July 25. The budget aims to empower every community and individual in the state. He added that under the BJP government, residents will now have direct interaction with the Chief Minister, a shift from previous administrations.
"With the blessings of Lord Jagannath, the BJP has formed its first government in Odisha. The people's CM will interact with citizens, a feat that was unattainable over the last 24 years in the state. The BJP envisions a 'Nua Odisha' with its new government," Majhi stated. The BJP ended Naveen Patnaik's 24-year reign by winning 20 seats in the 18th Lok Sabha elections.
In the assembly elections, the BJP secured a majority with 78 seats out of 147, while the BJD managed to win only 51 seats. (ANI)
