Historic Move: Assam Civil Services Exam Now in Assamese

In a groundbreaking announcement, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that the Combined Civil Service Examination (Main) would feature questions in Assamese for the first time, in addition to English. The initiative, slated to start this Friday, aims to make the exam more accessible for local candidates.

The move follows instructions from the Assam government and has been executed by the Assam Public Service Commission. Sharing the news on X, Sarma praised the commission for its historic decision and highlighted its significance for Assamese-speaking aspirants.

The upcoming examination will consist of six papers and will be held on July 26, 27, and 28. This progressive step represents a significant shift in making state civil services more inclusive.
