Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and District Magistrate Tehri Garhwal Mayur Dixit to execute efficient relief and rescue operations in response to the destructive rains and landslides in Bal Ganga and Budha Kedar of the Bhilangana development block in Tehri Garhwal.

Expressing sorrow over the incident, CM Dhami requested Minister in charge of Tehri, Premchand Aggarwal, to visit the affected areas and oversee the relief efforts. He also directed the Tehri District Administration to identify and relocate sensitive villages to safer locations. Arrangements for the safety of livestock were also mandated.

The District Magistrate was further instructed to prioritize the supply of electricity, drinking water, and other amenities in relief camps and to distribute permissible relief funds to victims without delay.

District Magistrate Mayur Dixit reported that two women were buried under debris in Toli village due to heavy rains and landslides. Immediate search and rescue operations were initiated by the SDRF, Police, Revenue, and Health Department teams. The bodies of Sarita Devi and Ankita Devi were recovered, while an injured Virendra Singh received medical treatment.

Emergency relief cheques amounting to 4 lakh rupees each have been issued to the families of the deceased, alongside a cheque of 1 lakh 35 thousand rupees for house damage. Compensation for animal losses was also provided.

Additionally, a house was washed away near Thati Budhakedar Nath's pool, leading to further evacuations of vulnerable houses and shops near the river-facing market area.
