Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Exposes Alleged Rs 8,000 Crore Power Scam

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy accused Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders of indulging in an Rs 8,000 crore power project scam and misleading the public about power generation achievements. He highlighted that uninterrupted power supply in Hyderabad was due to decisions from the YSR regime.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, on Monday, leveled serious accusations against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders, alleging they are involved in a scam amounting to Rs 8,000 crore related to power project contracts. He claims BRS leaders falsely credit themselves for abundant power generation in the state.

Reddy pointed out that the uninterrupted power supply in Hyderabad was a result of decisions made during the YSR regime. He emphasized that assets generated for power belong exclusively to their respective states and praised Jaipal Reddy's efforts in negotiating the power distribution based on consumption rather than generation.

The CM also accused BRS leaders of avoiding transparency in power agreements, especially with Chhattisgarh, and the construction of Yadadri and Bhadradri thermal projects. The Supreme Court has ordered an investigation, and a new Commission Chairman is set to be appointed by the government. Reddy further alleged that a major fraud occurred in awarding power projects to BHEL and its associates, bypassing proper tender processes.
