Union Minister of State and BJP MP Harsh Malhotra on Wednesday criticized the Delhi government's policies for the tragic deaths of three UPSC aspirants in Old Rajinder Nagar. He called for the immediate resignation of Atishi and also demanded Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's resignation, asserting that governing the state from jail is unfeasible.

The incident occurred due to flooding in the basement of Rau's IAS coaching centre, leading to the deaths of aspirants Shreya Yadav, Tanya Soni, and Nivin Dalwin. Malhotra attributed the tragedy to the Delhi government's policy paralysis and negligence. He stressed the complete responsibility lies with the Delhi government and the MCD.

Protests have continued outside coaching institutes in Rajinder Nagar, with demonstrators demanding justice. Delhi Police have arrested seven individuals, including the owner and coordinator of the center, charging them with culpable homicide among other offenses. Disciplinary action has also been initiated against MCD officials.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to top Delhi officials, seeking detailed reports and directing a survey of coaching institutes operating in violation of norms. They aim to hold negligent officers accountable.
