A tragic incident unfolded at a Delhi coaching centre, where a student named Vani Awasthi was electrocuted amid waterlogged conditions following recent rains in the national capital. She is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bareilly.

According to Dr. Sudeep Saran, Vani suffered the shock while using a biometric machine to register her attendance. The machine was installed on an iron gate inundated with water. Upon touching the gate, Vani was electrocuted and immediately fell unconscious.

She was initially rushed to Safdarjung Hospital where she regained consciousness after some time before being transferred to Bareilly. Dr. Saran reported significant improvements in her condition due to counseling and medication, though she remains in the ICU and has developed a phobia affecting her mobility.

Eyewitness Shweta corroborated the details, adding that the incident prompted the coaching centre's owner to remove the biometric machine and shut down the basement library. Despite the traumatic event, Shweta confirmed that Vani is on the road to recovery.
