A Pune court on Friday granted bail to Manorama Khedkar, the mother of former probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, in connection with a criminal intimidation case related to a land dispute. Additional Sessions Judge AN Mare approved the bail, as confirmed by Manorama Khedkar's counsel, advocate Nikhil Malani. The judge ordered her release upon executing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 with sureties of the same amount.

According to the court order, the applicant is prohibited from contacting the informant and witnesses by any means and must avoid attempting to influence them in any manner. The order further specified that she should not enter the jurisdiction of Paud Police Station until the investigation is completed. However, she must cooperate with the investigating agency and report to the concerned police station when required.

Furthermore, the court stated that the applicant must not leave Pune district without informing the investigating officer and the jurisdictional magistrate until the investigation is concluded. Meanwhile, the Delhi Court on Thursday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar, citing the grave and serious nature of the allegations, warranting thorough investigation. Additional Sessions Judge Devender Kumar Jangala noted that the case involved charges under several sections, including 420/468/471/120B IPC, 66D IT Act, and 89/91 Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016. The court emphasized the necessity of custodial interrogation to unearth the conspiracy and identify other involved individuals.
