Sunkind Energy Secures 20 MW Solar Power Projects

Sunkind Energy has been awarded solar projects totaling around 20 MW by Nahar Group and Jindal Group. The projects, to be completed by September 2024, include a 7.3 MW unit in Punjab and a 12.6 MW unit in Maharashtra. The financial details were not disclosed.

On Monday, clean energy company Sunkind Energy announced the acquisition of new solar power projects totaling approximately 20 megawatts (MW).

The contracts were secured from Nahar Group and Jindal Group, according to a company statement.

For Nahar Group, Sunkind Energy will establish a 7.3 MW capacity in Ludhiana, Punjab, for captive purposes. For Jindal Group, a 12.6 MW captive solar project will be set up in Nashik, Maharashtra.

The projects are to be executed in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode. The company’s founder and CEO, Hanish Gupta, expressed hopes to complete these contracts by September 2024.

No financial details were provided by the company. However, industry estimates peg the investment at around Rs 5-7 crore per MW, inclusive of land costs.
