Special Director General of Police (Spl DGP) Law and Order Arpit Shukla on Monday hailed the patriotic gesture of 12-year-old Arav Bhardwaj from Haryana, who began a 1200-km cycling journey from the Kargil War Memorial in Leh to honor Kargil Martyrs on the silver jubilee of Kargil Vijay. The journey, which started on July 27, 2024, will culminate at the National War Memorial in New Delhi on Thursday.

SPL DGP Shukla, while bestowing his blessings upon Arav, awarded him a Punjab Police memento and delivered a poster bearing the message "Say No To Drugs, Say Yes To Punjab", to promote the anti-drug campaign. He described Arav as an ambassador conveying a crucial message against drugs while paying respect to the Kargil Heroes.

During his journey from Leh to Chandigarh, Arav paid tributes at various war memorials including Zojila, Badami Bagh, and Punjab State War Memorial. Accompanied by his father, the 13-day expedition spans Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana. Arav, an 8th-grade student at Heritage School New Delhi, had previously embarked on a 32-day, 2612-km trip from INA War Memorial in Manipur to National War Memorial in New Delhi in 2022 to mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
