RBI Survey: Inflation Expectations Rise to 8.2%
A recent RBI survey reveals that households' median inflation expectations increased to 8.2% in July. The survey, which sampled 6,091 respondents from 19 cities, also showed a rise in inflation expectations for the next three and twelve months. Major factors include food prices, housing, and services.
In a recent survey conducted by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the median expectation of inflation among households rose to 8.2% in July. This marks a 0.20% increase from the previous survey.
The survey, which gathered responses from 6,091 households across 19 major cities, indicated that the expectation for inflation over the next three months and one year also rose by 0.20% each. This shift aligns closely with changes in food prices, housing costs, and service expenses.
Interestingly, the latest findings suggest that more households anticipate increased general prices and inflation compared to the May 2024 survey. These inflationary pressures were reported across various product groups, echoing concerns about economic stability.
