Thousands Mourn as Former West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee Passes at 80

Thousands gathered to pay their last respects to former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who passed away at the age of 80 in Kolkata. Bhattacharjee, who had been suffering from age-related ailments, was honored with a massive procession.
Following the procession, Bhattacharjee's mortal remains will be donated to NRS Medical College and Hospital for research purposes. Earlier, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his condolences, lauding Bhattacharjee's five-decade-long public service as a pillar of righteousness.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also expressed her sorrow, recalling her long acquaintance with Bhattacharjee. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge paid tribute to Bhattacharjee's extensive political career spanning over five decades.
