Uttarakhand CM Dhami Approves Major Funds for State Development Projects

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved significant funds for a series of development projects across the state, including canal restorations, irrigation schemes, and anti-soil erosion measures. The projects aim to bolster infrastructure and improve resource management in various districts.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday greenlit the allocation of substantial funds for a range of developmental initiatives throughout the state, according to an official release from his office.

The Chief Minister approved Rs 488.40 lakh under NABARD for the renovation of the damaged Kadai Khala Gul in Dehradun's Raipur block, as well as for the repair and reconstruction of the main canal of Thano.

Additionally, Rs 156.57 lakh was sanctioned for the construction of a new tube well with a sprinkler irrigation system in Sahaspur's Vikasnagar constituency. Major funds were also earmarked for other projects, including Rs 463.16 lakh for the restoration of the Kho canal in Pauri Garhwal, and Rs 175.54 lakh for a lift irrigation scheme in village Lwali of Pauri block.

A total of Rs 126.68 lakh was allocated for constructing a lift irrigation scheme in Paithani of Thalisain block, while Rs 452.26 lakh was approved for an anti-soil erosion scheme from the Datgad drain in Kimagadi village of Pokhra block in Pauri Garhwal district.

Furthermore, under the Ekeshwar sector, approvals were given for anti-soil erosion schemes, with Rs 107.70 lakh sanctioned for the Kota drain project and Rs 196.43 lakh for a similar initiative from the western Nyar river in Bagdasera Tok. The Chief Minister also greenlit Rs 100.49 lakh for a sprinkler belt lift irrigation scheme in Almora's Chaukhutia block and Rs 217.31 lakh for renovating the Chhana canal in Dwarahat block.

A renovation project worth Rs 254.62 lakh has been approved for 12 mountain canals in Chamoli's Pokhari block. The Rudrapur block in Udham Singh Nagar will receive Rs 180.81 lakh and Rs 137.10 lakh for lining works on the Kichha and Sirsa canals, respectively.

Considerable funds were also cleared for modernising and restoring canals. These include Rs 290 lakh for the Sisaiya Canal in Sitarganj, Rs 212.51 lakh for the Chandeli Minor in Khatima, and Rs 162.58 lakh for the restoration of Canal No. 03-03A and 03B.

In Kashipur Municipal Corporation, flood protection works amounting to Rs 488 lakh were approved for Manpur Saini Farm Colony and Silver City Colony. The Jakholi development block in Rudraprayag district will see Rs 761.33 lakh allocated for renovating the Lastar main canal and constructing new offshoots, with an additional Rs 500.38 lakh for building four lift irrigation schemes.

The Chief Minister also sanctioned Rs 795.69 lakh for the construction of the Bhimtal bypass motor road in Nainital district under the state scheme, and Rs 274.60 lakh for installing 50 hand pumps in Haridwar's urban assembly as part of his announcements.
