Abhishek Manu Singhvi Nominated for Rajya Sabha Bypoll in Telangana

The Congress has nominated Abhishek Manu Singhvi for the upcoming Rajya Sabha bypoll in Telangana. The election was necessitated by the resignation of K Keshava Rao. Polls are scheduled for September 3.

The Congress party has nominated Abhishek Manu Singhvi as its candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha bypoll in Telangana, scheduled for September 3, according to a press release from the All India Congress Committee (AICC).

K C Venugopal, Congress General Secretary, stated that the party president Mallikarjun Kharge has endorsed Singhvi's candidature for the bye-election to the Council of States. This follows Singhvi's previous Rajya Sabha election loss in Himachal Pradesh earlier this year.

The bypoll was necessitated by the resignation of former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MP K Keshava Rao, who recently joined the Congress. Rao, a former Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief, had departed from the BRS to rejoin Congress after a decade-long stint.
