CM Sukhu Distributes Property Cards, Launches Swamitva Yojana in Hamirpur

In a landmark move to empower landowners, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the distribution of property cards under the Swamitva Yojana in Hamirpur on Friday. The Revenue Department's initiative aims to formalize land ownership for villagers in Abadi Deh areas.
Launching the scheme, CM Sukhu distributed property cards to 10 families from 11 tehsils in the first phase of the project, which will cover over 4,230 families across 190 villages. He reiterated that the primary goal of the Swamitva Yojana is to grant land ownership rights, easing villagers' access to official records.
The scheme employs drone-assisted mapping, covering 13,599 out of 15,196 Abadi Deh villages statewide. The Indian Survey Department has provided first-level maps for 6,314 villages, including Hamirpur. The initiative has set a national precedent by making Hamirpur the first district to grant these ownership rights. CM Sukhu also laid the foundation for crucial infrastructure projects, furthering state development.
