Earlier in the day, PM Modi extended his greetings to the nation, wishing for happiness and prosperity for everyone. He posted on X, "Best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a festival symbolizing the immense love between brother and sister. May this holy festival bring new sweetness in the relationships of all of you and happiness, prosperity, and good fortune in life."
President Droupadi Murmu also conveyed her greetings on the festival, celebrating the sibling bond. She emphasized the importance of affection and respect towards sisters and daughters. In a post on X, she urged citizens to pledge to ensure the safety and respect of women in society.
