Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked Raksha Bandhan by having school girls tie rakhis on his wrist in the national capital. President Droupadi Murmu extended her greetings, emphasizing the festival's celebration of sibling bonds.
In a post on X, President Droupadi Murmu expressed heartfelt greetings, underscoring the love and mutual trust between brothers and sisters. Prime Minister Modi also greeted the nation, wishing for happiness and prosperity. He noted that Rakhi symbolizes protection, with brothers vowing to safeguard their sisters from harm.
This year's Raksha Bandhan, celebrated on August 19, honors the bond between brothers and sisters. The tradition involves sisters tying a Rakhi around their brothers' wrists, who in return offer gifts as a symbol of love and care. (ANI)
