Centre Cancels UPSC Lateral Entry Ad: A Move Advocating Social Justice

The Centre's request for the UPSC to withdraw its latest lateral entry advertisement into the bureaucracy marks a significant step towards social justice. In a significant decision, the Central Government directed the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to cancel its recent advertisement for lateral entry into the bureaucracy, aligning with its broader social justice agenda. Author and journalist Professor Dilip Mandal highlighted the importance of this move on Tuesday.

“The government has taken a very important decision today, later endorsed by the UPSC, which introduces elements of social justice into lateral entry. It's an agenda spanning 70 years, now being realized by PM Modi,” stated Professor Mandal.

Mandal elaborated on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts towards social justice, citing initiatives like granting constitutional status to the OBC Commission and developing key sites related to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar into Panchtirtha. He praised the strategy of ensuring universal benefits to avoid societal antagonism. Earlier, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reaffirmed Modi's commitment to Babasaheb's Constitution through transparent reservation principles in UPSC's lateral entry.
