BJP leader Shazia Ilmi has issued a stern critique of the Congress party for its alliance with the National Conference (NC) in Jammu and Kashmir. She questioned the Congress's strategy and stance, particularly its ability to seek votes in states like Jammu, Haryana, and Maharashtra.
"The National Conference and Congress have both rejected Mehbooba Mufti's offer, claiming her agenda aligns with that of the NC," Ilmi told ANI. "After forming an alliance with NC, how does the Congress plan to seek votes from the public of Jammu, Haryana, and Maharashtra?"
In a strategic move, the Congress and NC announced their seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls. The NC will contest 51 seats and Congress 32, with 'friendly contests' on five seats. Additionally, one seat each will be left for CPI(M) and Panthers Party. The polls are scheduled to occur in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with counting on October 4.
