Challa Sreenivasulu Setty Takes Charge As Chairman of SBI

Challa Sreenivasulu Setty has assumed the role of Chairman at the State Bank of India, succeeding Dinesh Khara. With a career spanning over three decades at SBI, Setty brings a wealth of experience in various banking sectors. He had previously served as a senior managing director of the bank.

Challa Sreenivasulu Setty on Wednesday assumed charge as Chairman of the country's largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI).

He succeeds Dinesh Khara, who superannuated from the bank's services at the close of business hours on Tuesday, SBI said in a regulatory filing.

Before his appointment as chairman, Setty was the senior-most managing director of the bank, following the tradition of appointing the senior-most managing director to the chairman position.
