The Indian Army celebrated Women's Equality Day with significant events in Mariani, Assam, and Taksing Village, Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting gender equality and women empowerment. Celebrated annually on August 26, Women's Equality Day honors the passage of women's suffrage in the US and the perseverance of women who overcame violence and discrimination.

In Mariani, Assam, the Indian Army conducted an inspiring session at Mahadeb Agarwalla HS School, featuring a lecture and motivational film screening. Attended by 60 girl students, the session paid tribute to the courage and dedication of women in society and the armed forces, offering insights and guidance on joining the armed forces.

In Taksing Village, Arunachal Pradesh, the army raised awareness about gender equality and women empowerment, saluting the sacrifices of women nationwide. The events aimed to enlighten and inspire the local community, reaffirming the importance of gender equality in nation-building. The Indian Army remains committed to recognizing and promoting the invaluable contributions of women, according to PRO Defence Guwahati.
